"Extraction" is an action-packed thriller directed by Sam Hargrave and starring Chris Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a black-market mercenary who embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue the kidnapped son of an international crime lord. The story begins with Ovi Mahajan Jr., the teenage son of an imprisoned Indian drug lord, Ovi Mahajan Sr., being kidnapped by Amir Asif, a rival Bangladeshi drug lord, as leverage in their ongoing feud. Ovi Sr., unable to involve authorities, hires a private mercenary team led by Nik Khan to retrieve his son. The team enlists Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), a skilled but emotionally scarred mercenary, to carry out the mission.

As Tyler and Ovi bond during their escape, Tyler begins to see Ovi as more than just a mission. Ovi, in turn, looks up to Tyler as a protector and father figure.
Tyler contacts Nik for an extraction point, but the mission becomes more complicated as Amir’s forces close in. In a climactic showdown on a bridge, Tyler faces overwhelming odds to ensure Ovi’s safety. Despite being gravely injured, Tyler manages to get Ovi to safety with Nik’s help.
In a moment of self-sacrifice, Tyler stays behind to hold off Amir’s men, ultimately succumbing to his injuries after being shot by Farhad, a young boy recruited by Amir. Tyler falls into the river below, leaving his fate ambiguous.
Ovi safely returns to his family, but the experience leaves a lasting impact on him. In the final scene, Ovi is seen swimming in a pool, mirroring a scene from earlier in the movie with Tyler. As he surfaces, he notices a blurry figure watching him from a distance, leaving the audience to wonder if Tyler survived.
